MEMBERS of several organisations, on Friday staged protest
at Ghantaghar against bifurcation of Madhya Pradesh Medical
Science University (MPMSU).
They said citizens are now questioning the silence of political
leaders over the issue of bifurcation of the MPMSU. Members
of the various organisations
alleged that the continued silence
of public representatives has disappointed the people of Jabalpur.
Addressing gathering during a
protest, senior office bearers of
the organisations said Deputy
Chief Minister and Jabalpur
District In-charge Minister
Jagdish Devda along with
Mahakaushal region Ministers
Rakesh Singh, Rajendra Shukla
and Prahlad Patel have remained
silent on the issue. They said the
people expected the Ministers
to protect the city's interests.
The organisations raised the
question of what benefit Jabalpur
would get if its district in-charge
minister remained silent on
issues related to the city. It
demanded that Devda take
responsibility and step down as
district in-charge minister if he
could not effectively represent
Jabalpur's interests.
Members of the organisations
expressed concern over the silence
of elected representatives and
urged the state government to
safeguard the interests of Jabalpur.
Among those participated in
the protest were Dr P G Najpande,
Dr R B Shrivastava, Sushila
Kanojia, Ghanshyam Sonkar,
Arjun Kumar, Santosh Shrivastava,
Uma Dahia, Kunwar Singh, Maya
Kushwaha and others.
