BHOPALMunicipal Corporation (BMC) launched a comprehensive survey on Sunday against illegal commercial activities operating within residential zones and buildings constructed without approved sanction plans. On the first day of the enforcement campaign, civic teams deployed across 21 zones in all six assembly constituencies issued 228 new notices. Property owners have been granted a seven-day deadline to produce valid building permission documents and land-use approvals. Authorities confirmed that failure to submit verified documents or cease commercial operations within the stipulated period will prompt property sealing starting from the tenth day. Total notices exceed 1,450 mark MUNICIPAL officials clarified that all previously served notices remain fully enforceable alongside the fresh survey drive. During earlier phases, the civic body issued over 1,250 statutory notices, taking the cumulative total past the 1,450 mark. The newly-served notices represent additional non-compliant properties identified during initial inspections, with punitive action planned across both categories following complete document verification. Assembly constituency data indicates that Narela recorded the highest number of new enforcement notices at 60 cases. Meanwhile, field teams served 51 notices in Govindpura, 45 in Huzur, 38 in Bhopal North, 19 in Bhopal Central, and 15 in the South-West legislative constituency, reflecting widespread non-compliance across commercial corridors operating within residential pockets.
