The new Mohpa Police Station in Kalmeshwar tehsil was formally inaugurated on Saturday by Guardian Minister and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The police station was sanctioned under Nagpur Rural Police. It had already started functioning on June 13, 2026. Its formal inauguration was held on August 8. MP Shyamkumar Barve, MLC Dr Rajiv Potdar, MLA Ashish Deshmukh and Mohpa Municipal Council president Madhav Charjan attended the event. Special Inspector General of Police, Nagpur Range, Sandeep Patil, Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Rural Sr SP Dr Harssh Poddar and Additional SP Anil Mhaske were also present.

 

The dignitaries appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police to maintain law and order. They urged people to approach the Mohpa police station with complaints, information or requests for help. Nagpur Rural Police also conducted an awareness programme on cybercrime. Women, girls and children were given information about online fraud and safety measures. Around 2,000 people attended the programme. They included nearly 600 Police Patils from Nagpur Rural district. A workshop and gathering for the Police Patils was also organised at Gopal Hall in Mohpa.
