IN A powerful display of national pride, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav launched the State-wide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ on Sunday, taking to the streets of Bhopal on a motorcycle while proudly displaying the national flag. The day’s events began at the Chief Minister’s residence, where Dr Yadav hoisted the Tricolour and led his entire staff on foot to Samatva Bhawan to the resounding chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. Setting a high-energy benchmark for the campaign, the Chief Minister then rode a motorcycle directly to Tatya Tope (TT Nagar) Stadium to formally flag off the main public procession. The stadium grounds transformed into a hub of public enthusiasm as Dr Yadav joined senior dignitaries, including Sports Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang, Minister of State Krishna Gaur, MP Alok Sharma, and Mayor Malti Rai. Thousands of citizens - ranging from school children and NCC cadets to senior citizens and local merchants from New Market and Mata Mandir - joined the rally.

As the rally wound its way through Maharana Pratap Lok, Tin Shed, New Market, Roshanpura, and Polytechnic Square, trade associations and community groups lined the streets, showering flower petals on the rally amid live, spirited patriotic music from marching bands. Speaking to the media on the significance of launching the drive on August 9, Dr Yadav drew a direct historical line to the 1942 Quit India Movement launched under Mahatma Gandhi. He emphasised that the non-violent struggle and sacrifices of freedom fighters created an unstoppable nationalist wave that ultimately dismantled British colonial rule. Framing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ drive - running from August 9 to August 14 across all villages, wards, and towns - as a sacred opportunity to honour those sacrifices, the Chief Minister appealed to every resident of Madhya Pradesh to proudly fly the Tricolour at their homes and actively join local Yatras. Connecting the spirit of freedom to the State’s developmental trajectory, Dr Yadav highlighted India’s surging global prominence under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership as the nation builds toward ‘Amrit Kaal 2047’.
