The Promise

I asked Freedom, What is your name?
She smiled and whispered, "I'm not fame.
I'm every tear that turned to light,
Every soul that chose to fight."
I asked the Tricolour, Why do you fly?
It said, To teach the world to try.
Saffron burns with courage bright,
White walks gently in the light,
Green grows hope in every field,
And the Ashoka Chakra never yields.
The Himalayas guard our dreams,
The Ganga carries silent streams
Of stories written, not with ink,
But sacrifice beyond our thinking.
A soldier stands where storms arise,
A farmer greets the morning skies.
A teacher plants a seed of truth,
A child becomes tomorrow’s youth.
Freedom is not just one grand day,
Or songs and flags in proud display.
It lives each time we choose what's right,
When truth defeats the fear of night.
Raise your voice, but raise your deed,
Let kindness be our nation's creed.
Protect each river, tree, and land,
Build our future hand in hand.
So when the Tricolour fills the sky,
Don't just salute as it waves high.
Promise with every heartbeat's sound—
I’ ll lift my nation from the ground.
For India is not only history,
Not only glory, not only victory.
India is a promise, bold and free—
And that promise begins with you and me!
