CHIEF Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the national Tricolour is a symbol of the pride of 1.4 billion Indians and serves as a unifying force for the country. He said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Amrit Kaal has now become a nationwide movement aimed at connecting the younger generation with the sacrifices made for India’s independence. Sai was addressing the inaugural programme of the BJP’s Tiranga Yatra in Raipur on Monday. He said the country’s freedom was achieved after immense sacrifices by great national figures, including Mahatma Gandhi, Chandrashekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose and Veer Savarkar. Sai recalled the contribution of S h a h e e d V e e r Narayan Singh, who helped people during famine by providing them with grain, and tribal leader Gundadhur, who led a historic movement against British rule in the Bastar region. Sai said the Naxal problem that had long remained a major challenge for Chhattisgarh has now been resolved. He attributed the achievement to the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister and H o m e Minister Vijay Sharma and the support of the people. Sai announced that Tiranga Yatras would now be organised across all districts, administrative divisions, schools and institutions in the State. He said the campaign would also reach remote villages and areas that were previously affected by Naxalism, where the national flag would be hoisted on Independence Day.

 

He appealed to people to hoist the Tricolour at their homes, offices and institutions and honour the national festival and the sacrifices of the country’s heroes. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao appealed to people across Chhattisgarh to participate enthusiastically in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aims to strengthen people’s emotional connection with the national flag. The BJP’s Tiranga Yatra began at the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium and concluded at Subhash Stadium. Chief Minister Sai and Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma flagged off the procession and subsequently walked alongside a 1,500-metre-long Tricolour. The procession passed through Siddharth Chowk, Purani Basti, Kalibari and Mahila Thana Chowk before reaching Subhash Stadium. Horse-drawn carriages were also part of the procession. Large numbers of citizens, BJP workers, students and party office-bearers participated in the event. The atmosphere remained charged with patriotic fervour as participants raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. At several points along the route, the procession was welcomed with showers of flower petals. State Cabinet Ministers OP Choudhary, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Rajesh Agrawal and Lakshmi Rajwade participated in the Tiranga Yatra along with BJP State general secretaries Yashwant Jain, Akhilesh Soni and Naveen Markandey. MP Rupkumari Choudhary and MLAs Rajesh Munat, Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, Sunil Soni, Anuj Sharma and Indrakumar Sahu also joined the procession.
