IN COMPLIANCEwith Supreme Court directives, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished unauthorised commercial and residential structures at A-Sector Nayapura in Kolar Road. Using heavy machinery and manual labour, civic enforcement teams dismantled shops and residential buildings constructed on plot numbers 34/1 and 34/2 without valid building permissions and beyond permissible floor area ratio limits. Administrative authorities confirmed that property owners received sufficient statutory notice to produce legal documentation, but failure to submit valid approvals within the stipulated timeline prompted immediate demolition action. The municipal building permission wing previously served formal notices under Section 302(1) of the Madhya Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act 1956 to Lad Kunwar Meena, Mahendra Singh Meena, Gokul Meena, Radheshyam Meena, and Virendra Kumar Meena. During official hearings, the property owners presented a building layout approved by a former Gram Panchayat head, which lacked mandatory sanction numbers and dates. Deeming the documentation legally invalid under the Madhya Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act and the Indian Evidence Act, authorities rejected the submission and razed all non-compoundable illegal constructions. Fresh survey yields over two hundred notices: Alongside the targeted demolition drive, the civic administration initiated a comprehensive fresh survey across residential corridors to identify illegal commercial operations and unapproved building constructions.

 

Field teams operating across 21 municipal zones within six legislative assembly constituencies served 228 new notices on the first day of the campaign. Property holders have been granted a seven-day deadline to submit verified land-use approvals and construction permits, with municipal teams scheduling property sealing starting from the tenth day for non-compliant units. Municipal officials confirmed that over 1,250 statutory notices served during previous enforcement phases remain fully enforceable alongside the fresh survey drive, pushing the cumulative notice tally beyond the 1,450 mark. Authorities clarified that newly served notices target distinct non-compliant properties identified during recent field inspections, with verified violations across both categories facing strict punitive action following complete document scrutiny. Assembly constituency data reveals that Narela recorded the highest volume of new enforcement notices at 60 cases. Meanwhile, field surveyors issued 51 notices in Govindpura, 45 in Huzur, 38 in Bhopal North, 19 in Bhopal Central, and 15 in the South-West legislative segment, highlighting widespread non-compliance across commercial establishments operating within residential pockets. Dedicated field teams inspect commercial units citywide: To execute the comprehensive survey campaign, the municipal corporation deployed 96 officials and field staff across 21 municipal zones under the direct supervision of additional commissioners. Specialised enforcement units comprising town planners, assistant engineers, zonal officers, sub-engineers, and building permission personnel are conducting onsite inspections of shops and showrooms in residential areas while cross-verifying land records near lakes and designated green belts.
