A DELEGATION of the Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FMPCCI) met Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Ashok Varnwal and Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department, Neeraj Mandloi in Bhopal to discuss key policy issues concerning industries and MSMEs. The federation led by President Himanshu Khare, presented suggestions aimed at making the MSME sector more competitive, promoting investment and industrial expansion, simplifying procedures and creating a business-friendly environment. A major issue raised was the rationalisation of property tax in industrial areas. The federation pointed out that District Trade and Industry Centres collect maintenance charges from industries for infrastructure development and upkeep. It suggested that an appropriate portion of these charges be transferred to municipal corporations to reduce the burden of dual taxation on industries. The delegation also sought a single-window, time-bound system for industrial building plan approvals.

 

It proposed granting District Trade and Industry Centres full authority to approve building plans on industrial land allotted by the Industries Department. It further suggested that if no decision is taken within 30 days, an online deemed approval mechanism should be introduced under the Public Service Guarantee Act to prevent administrative delays. Khare said continuous and result-oriented dialogue between the government and industry was essential for industrial growth. He said FMPCCI would continue working with the government to establish Madhya Pradesh as a leading state for investment, manufacturing, trade, MSMEs and technology-driven industries. The delegation included former president Deepak Sharma, joint president Virendra Porwal, vice-presidents Yogesh Goyal and Jaidev Tamrakar, Rajiv Jain, secretary Praveen Acharya, joint secretary Dr Surendra Singh and Rajesh Hirwe.
