SENSATION gripped the Vehicle
Factory area under the jurisdiction of Ranjhi police station, after
a newly-born infant’s body was
found at Culvert No. 16 in Uday
Nagar No. 2, on Wednesday.
The deceased infant was found
wrapped in a piece of cloth and
abandoned among the bushes
along the path. The incident
came to light when local commuters noticed the wrapped
bundle in the bushes and immediately alerted security personnel stationed at the neighbouring Vehicle Factory.
The security staff promptly
notified the Ranjhi police, who
dispatched a team to secure the
the scene.
Police took custody
of the infant’s body and sent it
to the Medical Hospital for a
post-mortem examination.
The police registered a primary
intimation.
Providing details on the matter, Sub-Inspector Sitaram
Bakode stated that an unidentified individual dumped the
wrapped body of the newborn
in the bushes before fleeing the
scene. Authorities noted that
the exact cause and time of
death will be established once
the post-mortem report is
received. Investigators are currently reviewing footage from
nearby CCTV cameras to identify the culprit, while simultaneously gathering patient
delivery records from local hospitals and maternity centers
across the area.
