NAGPUR, one of the older teams affiliated to Vidarbha Bridge Association (VBA), somehow possesses the happy knack of emerging winners. They did it once again by emerging champions in Beni Prasad Kanoria Memorial Open Duplicate Bridge Tournament organised by VBA in their sports complex at Shankar Nagar on Independence Day.

 

Competing in 60 deals contest, played across 5 rounds of 12 boards each, Nagpur seized the top spot by scoring 75.20VP. Their strength came from efforts put on by M Mor, Puranik brothers Vishnu and Arun, G Dutta and M Dutta. Mohota finished runners-up by scoring 69.23 VP. Their team included B Mohota, S Chhajjed, S Roy and Anilkumar Mohota. Attractive cash prizes were awarded to all the winners. Mohota and AmitRewatkar were tournament directors.
