The UDCC submitted the
memorandum to the Station
House Officer of the New
Rajendra Nagar Police Station
regarding the death of four-and-a-half-year-old Kavyansh
Sahu, who drowned after being swept into a drain in Amlidih.
The Congress demanded that an FIR be registered against
those responsible and strict action be taken. UDCC Raipur
President Shreekumar Shankar Menon stated that reports
of children drowning in the city are frequently received due
to administrative negligence. Despite the untimely deaths
of so many children, the government and administration
remain mute spectators. The lack of action against those
responsible, even after accidents occur, encourages them
to maintain an indifferent and negligent attitude, he added.
