A 25-year-old youth was stabbed to death near Narendra Nagar RuB following a dispute over plans to start a new business on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Pankaj Ragde. Accused Gaurav Rambhau Raut fled the spot after the attack but he was chased by a police constable and was arrested after some distance. Police also recovered the knife used in the murder.
According to police, Raut and Ragde were planning to start a restaurant near Chhatrapati Square. For this, Raut had rented a room in the area.
On Thursday, Ragde went to the rented room, where Raut was consuming alcohol with some friends.
Police said that Ragde abused Raut and damaged property inside the room. During confrontation, Ragde tried to flee from the spot.
Raut reportedly chased him and near Narendra Nagar RUB, Ragde fell where Raut stabbed him multiple times with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
At the same time, Ajni police personnel Manish Bhalme and Naresh Sawankar were patrolling the area. After receiving information about the incident, they rushed to the spot. While Bhalme remained at the scene, Sawankar chased the accused. After some distance, Sawankar managed to catch Raut. A case of murder has been registered against the accused in Beltarodi Police Station.
