Senior Advocate Adv. Kumkum Shirpurkar on Friday said that the Indian Constitution has granted various significant rights to women. “However, due to a lack of adequate awareness, these rights are not effectively implemented. Therefore, women officers must gain in-depth knowledge of their constitutional and legal rights and utilize them efficiently, stated,” she said while expressing her views at a State-level convention organised by Durga Mahila Manch, a body working under the Maharashtra State Gazetted Officers’ Federation, to deliberate on office-related challenges, just demands, women’s empowerment, and various issues faced by women gazetted officers.
The event was held at the GST Bhavan in Civil Lines, Nagpur.
Prominent figures present on the occasion included senior writer and social worker Aruna Sabane, Durga Mahila Manch President Siddhi Sakpal, Vice President Suvarna Joshi, Secretary Vishakha Adhav, Swati Kale, and former President Sonali Kadam.
The introductory remarks were delivered by Siddhi Sakpal. A large number of female gazetted officers from
the State administration attended the convention.
Attendees expressed that the gathering served as a vital platform for female officers to collectively brainstorm administrative and workplace concerns, push for fair demands, discuss empowerment, and raise their voice to the Government.
