City Link Limited (BCLL) inducted ten additional electric buses into its urban transport network on Monday, expanding the active fleet across three high-demand routes to 30 vehicles. An additional 6 e-buses will remain in reserve to ensure uninterrupted service continuity across the urban network. The fresh deployment aims to alleviate peak-hour passenger congestion and provide reliable, air-conditioned public transit for thousands of daily commuters navigating key municipal corridors. SERVICE FREQUENCY DROPS TO 10 MINUTES: With the expanded fleet coming into service, transit authorities expect waiting intervals to drop significantly from the previous 18-minute delays to between 10 and 12 minutes during peak hours. The MP Nagar Board Office junction will function as the primary interchange connecting the three upgraded routes. The reduced headway is structured to deliver seamless connectivity between major urban transit hubs, including Bhopal Railway Station, ISBT, and key Metro rail stations. EXTENDED OPERATING HOURS TO BENEFIT PASSENGERS:Municipal transit authorities have extended daily operations, running buses from 6.30 am until 9 pm to accommodate late-evening travelers and office workers.

 

The three boosted routes, B-35, B36, and B-37, link critical civic landmarks including Bairagarh, Chirayu Hospital, Kolar Road, Ashoka Garden, and Salaiya. The expanded evening schedule aims to improve public transport accessibility across key residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and major regional medical facilities. 3 MAJOR ROUTES RECEIVE FLEET BOOST: Under the revised operational schedule, Route B-35 links Chirayu Hospital in Bairagarh to Aakriti Eco City in Salaiya via Roshanpura and Bittan Market. Route B-36 spans from the Coach Factory at Bhopal Railway Station to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Nagar on Kolar Road, servicing Ashoka Garden and Chuna Bhatti. Route B-37 connects the Bairagarh E-bus Depot directly to ISBT via Nadra Bus Stand, Jahangirabad, and Vallabh Bhavan. FLEET EXPANSION PLAN TO REACH 100: According to BCLL Chief Executive Officer Anju Arun Kumar, the latest induction represents a key phase in a broader municipal vision to deploy 100 electric buses across the capital region. Future operational expansions will extend zeroemission bus services to suburban destinations including Mandideep, Sehore, Obaidullaganj, and Bhojpur.
