CONTINUING the night combing operation, police have arrested total 269 absconding warrantees and 25 accused involved in illegal trade and transportation of liquor. Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay, Jabalpur Police conducted combing operation across urban and rural areas to strengthen law and order and curb criminal activities. The operation was carried out from 9 pm on August 22 to 2 am on August 23. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Additional SP City Ayush Jakhar, Additional SP Crime Jitendra Singh, Additional SP Zone-2 Pallavi Shukla, Additional SP Zone-4 Anjana Tiwari, Additional SP Headquarters Suryakant Sharma and Additional SP Traffic Akhilesh Tiwari, along with all city police station heads and other supervisory officers.
 
During the operation, police teams conducted raids at multiple locations to apprehend absconding accused and execute pending warrants. A total of 269 warrants were served, including 117 non-bailable warrants, 85 arrest warrants and 67 bailable warrants. Several accused had been evading arrest for years and were taken into custody before being produced in court. Police also targeted illegal liquor operations. Teams arrested 25 persons allegedly involved in the illegal liquor trade and seized 35 litres of country-made liquor and 491 pouches of country and foreign liquor. As part of preventive action, police checked active goons and habitual offenders and questioned people travelling late at night. Vehicles and suspicious persons were also checked at the railway station, bus stand and musafirkhana.
