MINISTER for Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that any disregard for the interests of the children of Chhattisgarh will not be tolerated. The very objective behind increasing the number of medical colleges and MBBS seats in State is to ensure that the maximum number of students from Chhattisgarh get the opportunity to pursue medical education, said the Minister. Jaiswal stated that if any doubts or complaints regarding domicile arise, they will be investigated with the utmost seriousness. The system has been made completely transparent and robust. Those with valid documents need not worry; however, any violation of rules or instances of fraud will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The students of State have worked hard, and it is the responsibility of the State Government to safeguard their future and their rights. Increasing the number of medical colleges and seats is an achievement for State, but it is equally important to ensure that the benefits reach the eligible students. There will be no negligence in this matter, said the Medical Education Minister. The Chhattisgarh State Counseling Committee has issued important guidelines regarding the statelevel counseling for NEET-UG admissions for the year 2026. The Committee clarified that a candidate’s admission will not be considered final merely based on their inclusion in the merit list or the allotment of a seat at an institution. As in previous years, the entire process of counseling, merit determination, and seat allotment is being conducted transparently via online mode, in accordance with the prevailing admission rules.

 

In accordance with Rule 7 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental, and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025, the online counseling process comprises registration, determination of preference order, seat allotment, scrutiny of original documents, and the admission process. During the eligibility verification, the domicile certificate, category/sub-category certificate, and other documents required under the rules will be examined. The admission process shall be deemed complete only after the candidate submits the required original documents following the allotment and is found eligible upon their verification. Rule 12 of the admission regulations explicitly provides that if admission is secured by a candidate through the submission of false or incorrect information or by withholding relevant facts, or if, at any stage after admission, it is discovered that admission was granted due to an error or oversight, such admission may be cancelled in accordance with the rules. Should any complaints arise or facts come to light regarding domicile status or other documents, an inquiry may be conducted and necessary action taken as per the rules. The State Counseling Committee has appealed to candidates not to believe any rumours, confusion, or misleading information regarding the counseling process.
