BHOPAL has crossed the 900 mm milestone for total seasonal monsoon rainfall, logging an impressive 905.6 mm since June 1 - standing 104.1 mm above the normal average. The State capital recorded a brief drizzle, registering 0.2 mm of rainfall. Morning temperatures hovered around a comfortable maximum of 28.80C and a minimum of 23.60 C. Low-pressure system triggers regional downpour: The monsoon surge across Madhya Pradesh is being driven by a persistent low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal, backed by a strong cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and an active monsoon trough running through northern and eastern India. Heavy downpours lashed eastern and central MP, with Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions receiving rain at most places. Gohparu in Shahdol recorded the highest rainfall in the State at 98 mm, followed by Jaithari (85.6 mm), Budhar (85 mm), Baihar (82 mm), Gotegaon (75 mm), and Harrai (74.2 mm).
 
The Meteorological Centre, Bhopal, has issued a warning for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h at isolated places. The yellow alert covers Dindori, Katni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Pandhurna. Strong surface winds were already recorded in several areas over the last 24 hours, including Tikamgarh (39 km/h), Hoshangabad (35 km/h), Datia (33 km/h), and Morena (33 km/h). Gwalior records State high of 34.50 C: Daytime temperatures rose appreciably by 2.30 C across districts in the Shahdol division, while remaining largely unchanged elsewhere. Gwalior recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature at 34.50C, followed by Sheopur at 33.60 C and Shahdol at 33.30 C. Conversely, Malanjkhand logged the lowest maximum temperature at 24.20 C. Night temperatures remained steady Statewide, with Sheopuri recording the lowest minimum temperature at 200 C.
