The Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) organised a grand convention of workers recently here in the premises of Western Coalfields Ltd. (WCL) in the city. The primary agenda of the convention was to register a strong protest and deliberate upon the deliberate delay by Coal India Limited (CIL) in the constitution of the Joint Bipartite Committee for the Coal Industry (JBCCI-12). Addressing the gathering, key speakers detailed the management’s delay tactics regarding the JBCCI-12 wage negotiation framework. Detailed insights on the issue were shared by Sudhir Ghurde, Ashish Murti, and Fransis Dara, who emphasized the urgent need for timely wage structure revisions for coal workers. Sunil Mohitkar and A P Singh provided an in-depth breakdown of the four labour codes and updated the members on union membership affairs. Varsha Pudke strongly raised the crucial issues and workplace challenges specifically faced by female employees. In his opening address, Ashutosh Dubey, President, BMS, Nagpur Area, highlighted the context and necessity of holding the convention.

 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and closing address by Rajneesh Nunhariya, General Secretary, Nagpur Area. The convention was graced by chief guest Manoj Razzak, along with invited dignitaries including Jayant Asole, and senior WCL union leadership. Kuwar Singh conducted the proceedings. Aksar Karemore, Vikram Singh, Jaiprakash Chandra, and Ankur Pawar, Priya Gujarmale, Priyanka Durgaporhit, Ranu Shrivastav, Akansha Kawale, Ashwini Chikhle, Vaishali Dhakhle, Varsha Gajbiye, Nanda Aosle, and Leena Dhakle played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s smooth execution and success.
