ELECTRICAL Department won the coveted DRM Challenge Cup Kabaddi Tournament that was organised by the South East Central Railway Sports Association (SECRSA), Nagpur at its badmintonkabaddi courts in Motibag Nagpur. In the final, Electrical Department defeated RPF by 7 points (37–30) to clinch the title. The winning team was awarded the Championship Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 7,000 while the runners-up team received also received a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 5,000. The Man of the Match award in the final was presented to Bikki Pal of RPF for his outstanding performance. During the tournament, the following individual awards were also presented — Best Raider: Shankar Nandeliya, RPF; Best Catcher: Imran Sheikh and Player of the Tournament Krupal Shende (Electrical Department) Rs 1,500 cash prize and a trophy.

 

The final match was graced by Deepak Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), SECR, Nagpur, as the chief guest. Nehal Narayane, Sports Officer was prominently present. Several other Branch Officers and Railway officials werealso present on the occasion and encouraged theparticipating teams. Amit Anthony, Sports Cell In-Charge; ShrikantRoy, Stadium In-Charge; Vipin Madne, SportsAssistant; Aniruddh Sarwate made dedicated effortsin smooth organisation of the tournament. The tournament provided an excellent platformfor Railway employees to showcase their sportingtalent while promoting team spirit, discipline, fitness and camaraderie among different departments of South East Central Railway
