PLAYWELL, led by father and son duo of Raja and
Amit Rewatkar and Kumra brothers Neeraj and
Sanjeev, emerged champions in SD Joshi
Memorial Annual Duplicate Bridge Championship
organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association in their
sports complex at Shankar Nagar.
It was indeed a victory to cherish in 60 deals
contest played across 6 rounds of 10 boards each,
wherein their tally of 87.71 VP helped them securetop honours and winners purse. Playwell begantheir trail to the top spot with 7.17 vs Nagpur.
Thereafter, from second through to the sixth round,
they scored 16.78 vs Team Agrawal, 17.16 vs TeamAxis, 8.86 vs Team Anil, 19.44 vs Team Hastak and18.30 vs Friends.
Team Anil finished runners-up with a tally of87.10 VP. Their team consisted of S Chhajjed, RDeshpande, S Roy and Anilkumar Mohota.
In MP pairs event, S Watwe and V Patki duoemerged champions. J Kanoria and A Daga walkedaway with second position. In IMP pairs event, APuranik and M Dutta clinched top honours. SHastak and A Goenka finished runners-up.
Anilkumar Mohota and Amit Rewatkar were thetournament directors for this brain game.
