Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has tightened its belt to provide uninterrupted, high-quality, and reliable power supply to electricity consumers. To recover pending electricity bills, not only has the administrative machinery been deployed, but senior officials and engineers of MSEDCL have directly hit the field. Engaging in direct dialogue with consumers, officials are actively urging them to clear their outstanding bills on time.
Rajesh Naik, Chief Engineer of MSEDCL’s Nagpur Zone, has launched an intensive visiting drive across various areas in Nagpur and Wardha districts over the past few days. On Monday, he visited Umred, Kuhi, and Pachgaon areas in Nagpur district to motivate ground personnel for the recovery drive.
Going a step further, Naik personally visited the residences of defaulting consumers to cordially request timely payments. Executive Engineer of Umred Division Deepak Aghav and other senior officers accompanied him during the tour.
The entire engineering and field staff has taken to the streets to achieve the recovery targets set before August 31. Key officials steering the campaign on the ground include - Sanjay Wakade, Superintending Engineer (Nagpur Rural Circle); Prafulla Lande, Superintending Engineer (Nagpur City Circle); and Smita Parkhi, Superintending Engineer (Wardha Circle). Similarly, Executive Engineers across multiple divisions are also actively conducting field visits to create consumer awareness. Prashant Gaikwad (Arvi Division) interacted directly with defaulting consumers in Arvi rural areas; Prashant Tembhekar (Butibori Division) toured Butibori and neighboring areas to educate residents on clearing arrears; Narendra Katare (Katol Division) engaged with consumers in the Ridhora belt; and Sudhir Hedau (Saoner Division) conducted door-to-door outreach in Khaparkheda.
While requesting public cooperation throughout the drive, officials cautioned that MSEDCL would be forced to disconnect power supply for habitual defaulters who continuously ignore payment notices. Consumers have been urged to clear their dues promptly to avoid such harsh action.
During these visits, Naik also conducted a comprehensive review of key customer-centric technical initiatives, including the Rooftop Solar Scheme, the ‘SMART’ Residential Rooftop Scheme, the installation of modern smart meters, and the expedited issuance of new power connections.
MSEDCL reiterated that uninterrupted power distribution and infrastructure development depend entirely on public cooperation, appealing to all valued consumers to pay their pending electricity bills without delay.
