TEAMS from Kapil Nagar and Chhatrapati Nagar won the SW Dhabe Memorial 26th Slum Football Tournament titles in Jaripatka and Kamptee divisions respectively. Semi-finals and finals matchesof the event organised by Krida Vikas Sanstha, were played at NITJogging Parkin Jaripatka and the Municipal Council School Ground in Kamptee.Players delivered impressive performances at both venues and thoroughly entertained the spectators. In the first semis played at NIT Jogging Park,Nara defeated Chhavani Patta 1–0. Saurabh scored theonly and decisive goal of the match. In the second semi final, Kapil Nagar produced an attacking display to register a commanding 7–1 victory over Sugat Nagar. Inthe final,Kapil Nagar led1–0 at half-time and continued to dominate the second half eventually winning the match 3–1 to claim the Jaripatka title. Arman Khan scored twice and Tushar Thakur added one goal for winners while Saurabh scored Nara’s onlygoal.The winning team was presented with the championship trophy by Rakesh Rajput and Pankaj Badole. In first semi-final at Kamptee, Chhatrapati Nagar defeated Hardas Nagar 3–0. Ubaid Khan, Mohammad Ayan and Om Mishra scored one goal each for Chhatrapati Nagar. In the second semis,Ramgarh Patel FC secured aplace in the final with an emphatic 6–1 victoryoverAjni Group FC. Inaclosely fought Kapil Nagar, Chhatrapati Nagar registered a 1–0 victory courtesy of adecisive goal from Ubaid Khan, to emerge as champions. Trophy was presented by Rajkiran Barve, President of Yerkheda Nagar Panchayat, Kamptee; Mallika Nagpure, Taluka Sports Secretary; Rajesh Piprewar, social worker and general secretary; BJP youth leader Manish Bhati; Tushar Dhabale and Ankit Bagh. Vicky Sirsam, Rakesh, Pankaj and Moonmoon Yadav worked hard to make the tournament successful.
