THE Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday approved proposals worth Rs 10,630 crore to strengthen infrastructure, healthcare, cyber security and social welfare in the state. The Cabinet approved a Government guarantee for a Rs 4,600 crore NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance loan to the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) for construction of 12 roads. 22 roads transferred to MPRDC The Cabinet also approved the transfer of ownership of 22 selected highways, major district roads and other district and rural roads to MPRDC at a nominal value. Toll revenue and other income from these roads will be used to service the corporation’s loans. Rs 3,960 crore for SeoniBalaghatThe Cabinet approved Rs 3,960.09 crore for widening the 91.64-km Seoni-Balaghat road into a four-lane highway with paved shoulders. The project will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model, with the road expected to improve connectivity between Seoni and Balaghat and benefit an estimated 8-10 lakh people. Rs 1,740 Crore for welfareThe Cabinet approved Rs 1,740 crore for continued implementation of 19 welfare schemes for poor and vulnerable sections from 2026-27 to 2030-31. The schemes cover pensions, family assistance, disability support, marriage assistance, senior citizens, rehabilitation and measures for reducing drug dependence. 244 posts approved for university For effective functioning of Madhya Pradesh Dhanwantri Health University in Ujjain, the Cabinet approved 244 posts, including 154 regular posts, one contractual post and 89 outsourced positions.

 

The university is expected to strengthen administration, affiliation, examinations and academic oversight of health science institutions across 31 districts. Rs 80 crore cyber security plan The Cabinet approved Rs 80 crore for the Madhya Pradesh Computer Emergency Response Team (MP-CERT) for 2026-27 to 2030-31. The initiative will strengthen cyber incident response, risk mitigation, digital infrastructure protection and forensic capabilities across government systems. Rs 250.67 crore for MP Bhawan A provision of Rs 250.67 crore was approved for the continued operation, maintenance and upgradation of Madhya Pradesh Bhawan and related offices and guest facilities in New Delhi and Mumbai during the 16th Finance Commission period. Land purchase policy gets revision The Cabinet approved amendments to the 2014 policy for purchasing land through mutual consent. Under the revised policy, additional compensation will be provided for eligible private agricultural land in rural areas, apart from the calculated rehabilitation grant, to facilitate faster acquisition for public projects. EOW powers updated under new codeThe Cabinet approved amendments to a 1977 Home Department notification to authorise the Economic Offences Wing, Madhya Pradesh, to take action under the corresponding provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, replacing provisions earlier covered under the Indian Penal Code. Rs 78 lakh for blind cricket The Cabinet gave post-facto approval for Rs 78 lakh in incentives for members and coaches of the Indian women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup-winning team. Three Madhya Pradesh players will receive Rs 25 lakh each, while three coaches will receive Rs 1 lakh each for their contribution to the team’s 2025 title victory.
