THE Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership has begun a granular assessment of its Ministers handling district responsibilities in Chhattisgarh, examining whether mandated meetings were actually held, public grievances addressed and coordination maintained between the Government, elected representatives and party organisation. Party insiders privy to the proceedings said the two-day exercise at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar assumes political significance as it follows a twomonth performance window given to Ministers at an earlier meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence. BJP Zonal General Secretary (Organisation) Ajay Jamwal and State General Secretary (Organisation) Pawan Sai held one-to-one interactions with Ministers, seeking ground-level feedback on administrative functioning and political organisation. According to those privy to the meeting, 16 districts were taken up on the first day, while the remaining 17 are scheduled for review. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and Ministers Kedar Kashyap, Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Dayaldas Baghel and Rajesh Agrawal were among those participating. District presidents, organisational in-charges, MLAs and MPs were also involved, enabling the leadership to cross-check feedback rather than rely exclusively on ministerial assessments.

 

Rampratap Singh, former BJP Chhattisgarh General Secretary (Organisation) and presently Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (CGBOCW), also attended the meeting and interacted with senior party leaders. Party sources said the review centred on whether Ministers were visiting their assigned districts regularly, holding monthly meetings and maintaining direct engagement with party workers. Particular attention was paid to public grievances and administrative bottlenecks, besides implementation of Central and State Government schemes. Insiders said the organisational leadership also assessed whether district-level party structures were complete and functioning effectively. Ministers were asked to maintain close coordination with district presidents and organisational functionaries, with the broader message that administrative delivery and political responsiveness must move together. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined the deliberations later, when, according to those familiar with the proceedings, discussions widened to Government-organisation coordination involving Ministers, legislators, MPs and senior BJP functionaries.

 

The second round will examine the remaining districts and identify gaps requiring corrective intervention. Party insiders said the exercise essentially seeks to establish whether responsibilities assigned two months ago have translated into visible district-level engagement, responsive governance and stronger communication with the BJP’s grassroots machinery
