BJP State spokesperson Shatabdi Pandey described the 31st instalment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana (MVY) as a Raksha Bandhan gift from the Vishnu Deo Sai Government. Notably, the 31st instalment, meant for September, was released on August 25 during the Mahtari Vandan Samman Samaroh in Balod district. According to Pandey, a total of Rs 631.38 crore was transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer to 67,28,918 beneficiaries who had completed their e-KYC. This included 6,897 beneficiaries from Niyad Nellanar areas, who received their 11th instalment. With the latest disbursement, the BJP claimed that a total of Rs 20,076 crore has so far been transferred to women beneficiaries under the scheme. Pandey said the BJP Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, was committed to ensuring that the benefits of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana reach women across all sections of society.

She said the scheme was initiated after the BJP formed the Government in Chhattisgarh in line with the commitment made during the elections and the Prime Minister’s announcement. Describing the release of the 31st instalment as an important step towards women’s empowerment, Pandey said the Government was working towards the overall development and financial self-reliance of women in the state. She said the BJP Government had demonstrated its commitment to fulfilling its promises through the continued implementation of the scheme. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been implemented in Chhattisgarh since March 1, 2024. According to Pandey, the scheme has contributed to the financial and social empowerment of women by providing regular financial assistance through DBT.
