For centuries, society has carried a predefined image of how a girl should be. She is expected to remain quiet, obedient and dependent, even when she is treated unfairly. A girl who sacrifices her dreams and silently endures hardships is often called “well-mannered”, while the one who speaks out for herself is called “disrespectful”. Sadly, this mindset still exists in many parts of the world, in various cultures.
But modern women are no longer willing to lose themselves in the maze of society’s expectations. Education has changed the way girls think and live. Today, a girl understands her worth, her and the importance of self-respect. She knows that staying silent against injustice is not kindness but weakness forced by fear.
Whenever a woman chooses independence, raises her voice against wrongs or confidently expressed her opinions, society quickly begins judging her character.
People often mistake confidence for arrogance and courage for rebellion. But standing for oneself is not bad manners; it is self-respect. A girl who refuses to tolerate disrespect is not destroying values, she is protecting her dignity.
I believe I was never meant for ordinary thinking or ordinary limitations. I was not born to spend my life seeking society’s approval while ignoring my own dreams and identity. I want to become independent, educated and strong enough to build a life based on my own decisions.
A strong woman is not a threat to society. In reality, she is proof that society is finally evolving, because when a girl learns to value herself, she inspires countless others to do the same.
