ON RECEIVING news of the floods in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav set aside his pre-scheduled programme in New Delhi and reached Rewa on Saturday night itself. He then arrived in Chitrakoot on Sunday morning, met with flood victims, and promised all possible assistance. Dr Yadav visited the relief camp set up near the ancient Mukhar-Vind, met with all the flood-affected families, and inquired about their well-being. He distributed relief materials to the victims. He assured all those affected that the government and administration stand with the victims during this disaster and that they would be compensated for their losses. CM Dr Yadav stated that senior administrative officials would remain in Chitrakoot to oversee relief efforts until normalcy is restored. Chief Minister Dr Yadav walked throught the areas affected by waterlogging in the Ramdham neighborhood of Chitrakoot town. He visited the homes of those affected and inspected the damage caused by the waterlogging. Chief Minister Dr Yadav directed that all necessary amenities be provided to the affected families. He instructed the district administration to extend relief and assistance to all affected people with the utmost promptness, dedication, and sensitivity.

 

Present on the occasion were Chitrakoot MLA Surendra Singh Gaharwar, Municipal Council President Sadhana Patel, DRI Organisation Secretary Abhay Mahajan, District Vice President Prabal Srivastava, and Rewa Division Commissioner Shailendra Singh, Collector Dr Satish Kumar S, S.P Hansraj Singh, Additional Collector Vikas Singh, District Panchayat CEO Shailendra Singh, SDM Mahipal Singh Gurjar, ASP Hemkaran Kurbe, along with other public representatives and officials, were present. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, after distributing relief assistance to the affected people and inspecting the city on foot, talked to media. He said that In many areas of the city, houses have been flooded and household goods have also been damaged. Due to the promptness of the district administration, there has been no loss of life so far. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out continuously here. Indian Air Force helicopters were pressed in to rescue the stranded people from their roof. Besides, necessary relief material is also being supplied to the affected people. Damages due to flood are being assessed. The flood situation is being continuously monitored by the administration. All the necessary arrangements including food, clothing, drinking water, medical treatment for all the flood affected people, are being done. It is a matter of relief that water level exceeded in day time and due to the weather forecast, the district administration was also in full alert mode.
