HARSH Dhoble and Sidhant Rothe won gold medals while Kashish Bhagat, Himanshi Bawane and the relay team bagged silver medals in the 40th MaharashtraState Junior Group Athletics Championship; that concluded on the synthetic track at SVJS, Dervan, Ratnagiri on Sunday. The four-day event was hosted under the auspices of Maharashtra State Athletics Association and Ratnagiri District Athletics Association, informsDr Sharad Suryawanshi, Secretary of Nagpur District Athletics Association. In the Under-16 boys category,Harsh of Aai Foundation won the gold medal in the 80m hurdles event with atiming of 10.88 seconds,the silver medal was won by Tanishk Jondhale of Thane with a timing of 11.03 seconds and the bronzemedal was won by Aditya Rathod of Nashik with atiming of 11.09 seconds. Harshal so won a bronze medal in the 600m race with atiming of 1.26.40 seconds,the gold medal was won by Aniruddha NibodariofThane with atiming of 1.25.99 seconds and the silver medal was won by Piyush Kumar of Beed with atiming of 1.26.37 seconds. In thesame age group, in 60m hurdles,Sidhant Rothe of Mission Laksha vedh Foundation won the gold medal by clocking 7.13 seconds,the silver medal went to Dhairya Suryarao of Thanewith 7.27 seconds and the bronze medal went to Aryan PhereofLaturwith 7.35seconds. Inthe girlsUnder-20 group,in the 200m race,Kashish Bhagat of KF Foundation won the silver medal by finishing in 25.14 seconds,the gold medal was won by Divyangi Dange of Ahmednagar with 24.88 seconds and the bronzemedal was won by Poonam Bangale of Buldhana with 25.33 seconds.This was Kashish’s second medal in the same competition.

 

Shehad won gold medal in the 400m race on second day of the competition. Inthe 600mracein theUnder16 girls category, Himanshi Bawaneclocked1.36.83seconds. The gold medal was won by Santoshi Pimplese of Dhule with atiming of 1.33.06 seconds and the bronzemedal was won by Vrushali Kesarkar of Kolhapur withatiming of 1.37.48 seconds. Inthe Under-20 4 x 100 mrelay, the boys team returned with a silver medal.The team of Pranav Phuke (Akaar Athletics Club), Nakul Pundkar(The Sprint Hub), Danish Khan (Mission Lakshavedh Foundation) and Neville Krishnan (Future Athletics Club) clocked 43.45 seconds. The gold medal was won by Aurangabad District Team with a timing of 43.18 seconds and the bronze medal was won by Mumbai Sub-Urban team. Harsh is trained by Nishant Dehariya; Sidhant, Danish by Shamsher Khan and Kashish by GajananThakre;NakulbyGopal Palandurkar, Pranav by Ankit Bhadke, Neville by Dr Brijmohan Rawat, Sidhant, Harsh and Kashish aretrained by District Association President Gurudev Nagrale.
