Acting on the court directives, Utai police have registered an FIR against Bhilai Municipal Corporation Corporator Reeta Singh, her husband Ramesh Chand Singh Rajput, and their son Manav Cand Singh Rajput in connection with an alleged multi-crore land and mining property fraud. The case has been registered following an order issued by JMFC court and the court instructed the police to submit a compliance report within 15 days. Police sources informed that according to the complaint, the accused entered into a written agreement with the complainant B B Singh on January 29, 2024, for the sale of land located in village Chhata, Tehsil Patan, District Durg, along with certain movable assets including a Tata Hitachi hydraulic excavator and two Bharat Benz tipper vehicles. The complainant alleged that the accused concealed crucial facts regarding ownership and legal status of several land parcels involved in the agreement. It was claimed that parts of the land either belonged to third parties or were subject to restrictions, including government lease land which could not legally be transferred.

 

Despite this, the accused allegedly executed the agreement and received a substantial amount of Rs 4.39 crore out of the total agreed consideration of Rs 4.50 crore. Additionally, the complainant accused the parties of misrepresenting certain lands as ‘donation land’ (Daan Bhoomi), which later turned out to be cultivable land not legally eligible for sale. The complainant also alleged inaction on the part of police in registering the offence until the court intervened. After reviewing the complaint, supporting documents, and the preliminary inquiry report submitted by the police, the court found prima facie evidence of cheating and directed immediate registration of the FIR. SHO Utai Police Station, Mohan Bhardwaj informed that the police have already registered the offence in the matter on the court directives and further investigating to verify the facts and established the criminal charges in the case.
