In a major boost to rural power infrastructure, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has achieved another key milestone under the State and Central Government’s ambitious ‘Mukhyamantri Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0’ and RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme). On Monday, a new additional 5 MVA power transformer was successfully commissioned at the 33 KV Kelwad substation, falling under the Saoner division of MSEDCL. The dedication and commissioning ceremony held in presence of Chief Engineer of Nagpur Zone Rajesh Naik; Superintending Engineer (Infra) Dipali Madelwar; Superintending Engineer (Regional Office) Amit Paranjape; and Executive Engineer (Saoner Division), Sudhir Hedau; under the guidance of Superintending Engineer (Nagpur Rural Circle), Sanjay Wakde.

 

With the operation of the new power transformer at Kelwad substation, local power load management will become significantly more effective and precise. The upgrade smooths the way for farmers to receive a continuous, stable, and adequate power supply for agricultural pumps. Issues such as low voltage and frequent power disruptions will now be a thing of the past. The reduced strain on local power distribution brings major relief to farmers, local businesses, and general consumers alike.

 

The infrastructure work was completed within the stipulated timeline by M/s Polycab India Limited. The efficiency and precision shown by the agency's representatives and technical team played a key role in executing the project on schedule. On the occasion, the officials highlighted that the completion of this project has substantially strengthened the power grid in the Kelwad area, ensuring MSEDCL is fully prepared to meet growing agricultural and industrial demand. This development is expected to accelerate the overall socio-economic progress of the region.
