The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to submit the documents of electoral roll for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) till August 17.
The ECI once again revised the date and extended the door-to-door verification by BLOs and the publication of the final electoral roll has also been postponed to October 27.
The main objective of SIR is to make the voter list more accurate, up-to-date, transparent and error-free. For this, all eligible voters should submit their Enumeration forms till August 17.
Voters should fill all the information in the application carefully and accurately. The application should be signed only
after ensuring that the name, address, date of birth, photograph and other necessary details are correct.
Incomplete or incorrect information will not be accepted by the BLOs. Voters who have not received the application or have any problem or doubt regarding filling the application should immediately contact the BLO who will provide the guidance and support in the process.
For the effective implementation of SIR programme, special camps have been organised at 56 places in Nagpur West Assembly Constituency.
All eligible voters should actively participate in this national initiative by submitting their enumeration forms to their polling station.
District collector Kumar Ashirwad appealed all political parties to help BLOs to speed up the process of form collection in all constituencies.
