For speeding-up land acquisition for proposed e-way of Nagpur-Chandrapur, the extension of Samruddhi Mahamarag, Maharashtra Government has notified appointment of Additional Collectors to hold negotiations with Gram Panchayats in Tribal area. As per provision of Constitution, State is mandated to hold direct talks with local bodies for a negotiated settlement of land acquisition, that also include a crucial road link eyed from Gadchiroli, the mine rich district, to Navegaon More.

 

The four road links for which Additional Collectors of Nagpur, Bhandara, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur are mandated to hear objections and hold talks with respective Gram Panchayats for proceeding with land acquisition. The arrangement is as per sec. 15 sub section (2) of Maharashtra Highway Rules, 55 of 1955 for acquiring land patches to enable construction of Nagpur-Chandrapur e-way, Nagpur-Gondia e-way, both extensions to Samruddhi, Bhandara-Gadchiroli link plus an important Navegaon More-Konsari-Mulchera-Hedri upto Surjagad mines.

 

So basically all the four stretches once in place would be inter dependent to ensure through movement of minerals through road network from Gadchiroli to other parts of States or to other places as per demand. The Lloyds Group is constructing a steel plant at Konsari while its has mining rights for Surjagad. The road link would facilitate the movement of finished goods plus that of minerals. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is chosen to lay these four road corridors and they would co-ordinate with respective Collectorate to fast track the land acquisition.
