The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has made National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) mandatory for women and senior citizen passengers availing fare concessions on its buses from September 1, 2026.
According to an official circular, concessional tickets for women, senior citizens and beneficiaries of the Amrit Senior
Citizen Scheme will henceforth be issued only through NCMC cards. Passengers seeking discounted travel will be required to register for the card and carry it while travelling.
The NCMC registration and distribution process is currently underway across MSRTC depots and bus stations. The corporation has appointed authorised agents outside depot premises to facilitate registration and card distribution. The corporation said the NCMC system will be introduced in phases for other concession categories in the coming months. Instructions have been communicated to depot managers, drivers and conductors across the State.
