RAPPER Badshah has released his first Marathi hiphop track Chimna, which delivers a high-octane celebration of culture and community, engineered to bridge cross-generational demographics. The track is produced by Hiten and is sung by Badshah alongside Divya Kumar and Nagesh Morwekar, according to a press release. It starts with the classic rural hookline, "Ek chimna chiv chivla / majha sajan jaga zhala ho / surya ugavla". Badshah blends it into explosive hip-hop bars with localised flavour, dropping verses like "dance kar rahi dekho maushi maushi /nacho jab tak subah chidiya bol". Badshah said regional music is a "goldmine" and he wants to celebrate it. "India's regional music is a goldmine, and I want to celebrate every corner of it," the rapper said in a statement. "Chimna is my love letter to Maharashtra's rich creative canvas. I am incredibly grateful for how this project turned out, and this one's dedicated toall my day one Maharashtrian fans," he added.
