ACTOR Elliot Page, who played the role ofIthacan soldier Sinon in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, says he is not getting a lot of casting calls after his role in themovie,whichhas become the second highestgrossing movie of the year. In an interview with On Film... With Kevin McCarthy, Page was asked that he must be getting "a zillion calls after this movie." "No,Kevin, I'm not," Page said. "So, let's - if someone wants to call me..." A surprised McCarthy then askedif Pagereallydoesn'thave another job lined up. "Not really. I'd really love to do good work. That's what I'd love to do." Page, born as Ellen Page and came out as a transmanin 2021, said he is planning to be more proactive in reaching out to directors. "I was seen in a certain way before and it is different now."

 

The casting of Page, who was also part of Nolan's Inception before his transition, in The Odyssey was met with a lot of backlash from right wing social mediawithmany assuming that the director had cast him in the role of Achilles. In the film, Page appears in the first scenes of the movie as Sinon, a solider who is left with the Trojan horse with the Odysseus (Matt Damon) not revealing tohim thathe andothers are hiding inside the horse. He is killed in the initial scenes of the movie. Odysseus has another encounterwithSinonin theland of the dead.
