Rohan Singh will lock horns with Aarav Thakre in the summit clash of the men’s singles of the Diffusion Engineers’ NK Garg Memorial Nagpur District Badminton Selection Tournament.
The tournament is organised by Nagpur District Badminton Association at Subhedar Hall.
In the semi-finals, Rohan Singh defeated Mourya Khandelwal 15-6, 15-7 while Aarav Thakre quelled the challenge from Jeeva Pillai 15-8, 7-15, 15-10.
Thakre is in line for twin titles as he also made it to the final of boys Under-19 category.
The finals will be played on Saturday.
In the boys Under-9 final, top seed Ayaan Tamhan will clash with Shaurya Chitlange.
In the semis, Tamhan beat Ayansh Karare 15-3, 15-5 and Chitlange defeated Ayan Taori 16-14, 15-10.
The girls section in same age category will see top seed Rajnandini Sayam taking on Aanya Jha in the final.
Sayam got the better of Shuddhi Yadav 15-13, 15-11 while Jha ousted Ekansha Tarone 15-7, 15-12.
Top seed Raghav Niwarti and Pradyumna Meshram will lock horns in the Under-11 boys final after the former beat Abir Bhattacharya 15-8, 15-10 while Meshram defeated Vihan Bhise 15-3, 15-9.
Niwari has a chance to claim twin titles after he made it to the semi-final of boys Under-13 category as well.
Chinmayi Dapurkar defeated Rajnandini Sayam 15-2, 15-7 to make it to the final and will clash with Paridhi Hadole who beat Manaswi Kalamkar 15-9, 15-11 in Under-11 category.
In boys Under-17 age category, Sairaj Nayse defeated Hridaan Singh 15-11, 15-13 to make it to the final. He will meet Devansh Thaokar who got the better of Ojas Deshmukh 15-8, 15-10.
In girls semi-finals, Vaishnavi Manglekar defeated Anudhya Satpute 15-7, 8-15, 15-3 to book a final date with Vridhi Bang who quelled the challenge from Grishma Kaishalwar 15-13, 16-18, 17-15.
Devansh Thaokar will take on Aarav Thakre in the boys Under-19 final after he defeated Sairaj Nayse 15-7, 15-11. Thakre beat Hridaan Singh 17-15, 15-10 in the semi-finals.
