CHIEF Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis presented the Eminent Engineer Award to Dr Hemant Pande, CMD WCL at the 36th National Convention of Mining Engineers, a two-day convention organised by the Nagpur Local Center of The Institution of Engineers (India) on September 11. Dr Pande was given this prestigious award for the significant contributions he has made to mining engineering and the mining industry.

 

Also the prestigious Prof. SK Bose Memorial Lecture was presented by CMD WCL in which he spoke about responsible mining, environmental concerns, inclusion of latest technology, converting mine waste into opportunities, new verticals like critical minerals and rare earth elements, coal gasification, land repurposing, commercial bamboo plantation, etc. He also discussed about the future mining scenario of in Viksit Bharat 2047 like wide use of AI, robotics, real time monitoring, etc.
