BOKHARA and WarisPura recorded wins in the Slum Football Tournament 2026 organised by Krida Vikas Sanstha at GaribNawaz Football Ground in YashodharaNagar. In action-packed day at the venue,Bokharadefeated Pardi (B)2-0.The match between Waris Pura and Gittikhadan ended 1- 1inregulation time,after which Waris Pura secured a 4-3 victory in the penalty shoot-out. In other matches, Jaripatka defeated Anand Nagar 1-0 while Dipti Signal pipped Hazari Pahad 2-1 in another closely contested match. Asmany as 20 team shave been selected from ifferent localities in the city and will participate in the final stage of the championship. Prior to the final stage of the tournament, matches were organised in different slum areas across the city.

 

Teams comprising winners and runners-up from these local-level matches have been selected to compete.All matches will be played on knockout basis. The players displayed great enthusiasm throughout the tournament, while spectators encouraged the teams with their energetic support. Abhijit Barse,former corporator Jalil Ansari, Director of  Vidarbha Media Vision Imran Pathan, Abdul Basik and Asi Nagar Zone Chairman Mohammad Asif were present as chief guests during the matches. Dignitaries encouraged the players and highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, unity and the overall development of youth.
