Visitors to the Ganpati pandal at Ahuja Nagar, Bhim Chowk, will be greeted by an unusual underwater world inspired by the legendary city of Dwarka. Dolphins, starfish and crabs are among the marine elements incorporated into the decor, while a life-size chariot illuminated with lights forms one of the prominent attractions. Ducks placed in a corner, along with other illuminated elements, add to the visual detailing of the setup. The theme has been created to give visitors the feeling of entering an underwater Dwarka rather than simply viewing a decorative backdrop. LEDs have been installed throughout the pandal to simulate the movement, colours and atmosphere of being beneath water. Moving elements have also been incorporated to enhance the effect, while idols of Lord Krishna form an important part of the theme.

 

The entire setup has been prepared over nearly two-and-a-half months by local artists. The structure has been made using canvas instead of thermocol, with the lighting playing a key role in bringing the underwater setting alive. The Ganpati idol has Riddhi and Siddhi placed on either side, with a massive arch behind the idol, continuing the Krishna-inspired theme. The Panchmukhi Ganesh Utsav Mandal has been active for around 17-18 years. Artist Nilesh Asrani said the focus was on creating a distinctive visual experience through lighting and detailed elements, allowing visitors to experience the underwater effect without the use of actual water.
