THE Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, approved development and welfare proposals worth more than Rs 42,490 crore. The decisions cover school education, transport, horticulture, irrigation, administrative strengthening and financial support for farmers and women. The Cabinet approved Rs 36,006.22 crore for continuation of the Centre-sponsored Samagra Shiksha Scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31. The scheme covers students from pre-primary to Class 12 and focuses on improving learning outcomes, inclusion, vocational education, minimum schooling standards and teacher training. Transport schemes get Rs 1,166 crore: Eleven Transport Department schemes received Rs 1,166.60 crore for continued implementation over five years. The allocation includes Rs 377.41 crore for flying squads and checkposts and Rs 361.89 crore for district establishments. Another Rs 245.55 crore has been approved for the smart card scheme, while funds have also been earmarked for office infrastructure, maintenance and road safety. Horticulture gets Rs 491 crore:The Cabinet approved Rs 491 crore for eight horticulture and food-processing schemes from April 2026 to March 2031. The package includes Rs 100 crore each for fruit plantation and spice-area expansion, Rs 85 crore for protected cultivation and Rs 53 crore each for crop insurance and food-processing industries.

 

Another Rs 50 crore will support integrated coldchain infrastructure. Irrigation projects get Rs 2,600 crore: More than Rs 2,600 crore was approved for irrigation projects in Ujjain, Singrauli and Ashoknagar. The Chitawad project received Rs 1,846.05 crore, Gaund project Rs 749.62 crore and Chanderi micro-irrigation project Rs 11.49 crore. The projects are expected to create irrigation capacity over more than 1.27 lakh hectares. New district posts approved: Twenty-one new posts were sanctioned for mineral branches in Maihar, Mauganj and Pandhurna, with seven posts in each district. The Cabinet also approved 36 regular posts for four upgraded high schools in Anuppur and Shahdol districts. Ladli Bahna aid ratified: The Cabinet ratified the decision to provide an additional Rs 250 special assistance to Ladli Bahna beneficiaries on Raksha Bandhan in August 2026, along with their regular monthly assistance. MARKFED gets interest-free loan: The Cabinet approved an interest-free loan of Rs 2,220.62 crore to MARKFED for repayment of its outstanding foodgrain credit-limit loan for the 2024-25 rabi marketing year. The repayment has to be ensured by September 30, 2026, with the Finance Department releasing funds subject to liquidity and fiscal considerations.
