MAHARASHTRA Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said the CBI will investigate the Disha Salian death case, and that it is improper to engage in any kind of speculation in this matter. Talking to reporters here after a meeting of the State Cabinet, Fadnavis said he had not yet seen the FIR. He said the court had directed that the matter be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the agency subsequently registered an FIR. “We should now see what the CBI investigates. It is not appropriate for us to engage in speculation,” he said. The CBI registered the FIR in connection with the death of Salian, former Manager of late Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, naming no accused in compliance with the high court’s directives on a petition filed by her father Satish Salian. On September 2, the HC ordered a CBI probe into Salian’s death while pulling up the Mumbai Police for failing to register an FIR for six years, observing that its investigation raises more questions than answers.

 

SIT to probe complaints about MH-CET examination: CM Fadnavis: AN SIT has been formed to conduct a comprehensive probe into complaints related to MH-CET, the State’s entrance examination for professional courses including engineering, CM Fadnavis said on Tuesday. “If any irregularity is found, action will be taken,” he said while talking to reporters here after a Cabinet meeting. Recently a delegation of teachers and students from across the State had met the chief minister to raise various issues related to the Common Entrance Test (CET). Fadnavis has directed that First Information Reports be registered in all these complaints and they be investigated by Joint Commissioners of Police. He has also ordered a forensic audit into the alleged data leak. The Govt has already decided to postpone certain Maharashtra Public Service Commission examinations, he further said, adding that comments made by the chairman of the committee constituted in connection. with MPSC examinations were misinterpreted.
