VIDARBHA thrashed KSCA President’s XI by an innings and 80 runs inside three days to boost their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Thimmappiah Memorial Trophy in Alur on Tuesday. Vidarbhapiled up 530-5 in their first innings,thanks to a magnificent 233 by Danish Malewar. Mandar Mahale supported him well, scoringafine148.Theduoadded 281 runs for the fourth wicket, putting Vidarbha on astrong footing. Shivam Deshmukh contributed 49 and skipper Akshay Wadkar made an unbeaten 26 to guide his team well past the 500- runmark. Vidarbha’s spinners then bowled out KSCA President’s XI for 231 in their first innings, despite afighting 142 by Rohan Patil. Ganesh Bhosle (3-89), GauravFarde(2-34),and Mahale (2-34) shared the spoils.
 
Vidarbha enforced the followon and bowled out the KSCA side for 219 in their second innings to ensurea bonus point for their team.Farde(5-84)and Bhosle (3-47)mopped up the middle and lowerorder after Tejas Soni provided two early break throughs. The result of the Gujarat vs Goamatch will decide which team tops the Zone1 and qualifies for the last-four stage.
