A BHARATIYA Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader allegedly created a ruckus and vandalised property inside the Gudhiyari police station following a dispute related to a DJ. The incident reportedly took place in the presence of police personnel and has caused a stir in the Raipur Police Commissionerate. According to information, Gudhiyari police had taken action over an alleged violation of rules and arrested a young man before bringing him to the police station. On learning about the arrest, BJYM district vice-president reportedly reached the police station along with his supporters. Police sources said BJYM leader entered the station and allegedly pressured officers to release the arrested man immediately. When police personnel told him that the matter would be dealt with according to law, an argument reportedly broke out.

During the altercation, BJYM leader allegedly uprooted the police station’s nameplate and threw it at a television set inside the premises. The television was reportedly damaged completely in the incident. The incident created tension among the police personnel present at the station. Officials and staff reportedly attempted to pacify the BJYM leader, but he allegedly continued to assert his position and demand the release of the arrested person. He later left the police station along with his supporters. The incident has raised questions over alleged interference in police proceedings and vandalism inside a police station. Despite the reported damage, no formal case or complaint had been registered in connection with the vandalism at the time of reporting. Senior officials in the Raipur Police Commissionerate have reportedly taken note of the incident. Further action by the Gudhiyari police is awaited.
