TALENTED skater Shrishti Dharmendra Sharma of WCL, Umrer, once again made a remarkable attempt towards a Guinness World Record with an impressive performance in Limbo Skating. Competing in “Fastest Time to Limbo Skate Under Descending Poles Over 25 Meters – Female,” category, Shrishti completed the 25-metre distance in just 3.366 seconds. Under the target of completing the 25-metre distance in less than 8 seconds, as specified for the record attempt, Shrishti made three attempts and recorded timings of 3.366 seconds, 3.404 seconds and 3.433 seconds, respectively. All the required evidence and documentation related to the record attempt will be submitted to Guinness World Records as per its official procedure.

 

The final result will be announced by Guinness World Records after verification and evaluation of the submitted evidence. The official result is expected to take approximately three months. A notable aspect of Shrishti’s achievement is that she has also cleared the NEET examination this year and secured admission to MBBS at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC), Nagpur. Her achievements in both sports and education serve as an inspiration, particularly for young girls. Shrishti, 21, dedicated the record attempt to ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign with a message that when girls are provided with opportunities, encouragement and proper guidance, they can achieve success and create their identity in every field.

 

The event was attended by chief guest Dr Avinash Prasad, Area General Manager, WCL Umrer Area, along with Shivkumar Yadav, Prajakta Karu, Mohan Krishna Ravi, Shailendra Shinde, BR Verma, Rekha Prasad, and several other dignitaries. The programme was conducted by Santosh Malviya. Kishor Dhore and Vilas Deshpande served as Timekeepers, while Ranjit Rawat, Jamal Ahmed and Vaidya played important roles as Surveyors. Shrishti’s mother, Shikha, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to making the record attempt successful. She acknowledged the support of family members, well-wishers, officials, organisers, timekeepers, surveyors and the entire supporting team.
