A TOTAL of 3,319 meritorious students received Rs 25,000 each transferred by the Madhya Pradesh Government via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under State’s Laptop Distribution Scheme. During the main event held at Bhopal, two outstanding students from Jabalpur including Om Choukse and Shivangi Nagdev personally received laptops from the Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav. Under Laptop Distribution Scheme, Chief Minister Dr Yadav transferred financial assistance directly into the bank accounts of 1,21,804 meritorious Class 12 students across State via DBT on Tuesday. The funds, amounting to approximately Rs 304 crore Statewide, are designated to enable students who secured 75% or higher marks in their board examinations to purchase laptops for higher studies. At the main State event in Bhopal, the Chief Minister initiated the single-click fund transfer.
 
At local-level, the programme was simultaneously held at Pandit Lajja Shankar Jha Model Higher Secondary School (Model High School) in Jabalpur, where students and teachers gathered to watch the live telecast of the state-level broadcast. The local event saw participation from Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, MLAs Ashok Rohani and Dr Abhilash Pandey, Chairperson, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, Rikunj Vij, Joint Director Ghanshyam Soni and District Education Officer Gautam Varbe. Mayor Singh and other dignitaries mentioned that direct credit mechanism empowers students to independently choose and purchase laptops that best suit their academic requirements for upcoming higher education pursuits.
