A LARGE numbers of residents along with Hindu Dharm Sena activists staged demonstration in front of Adhartal police station demanding to register FIR over the sale of dead chickens and subsequent threats issued in connection with the matter. In his complaint submitted to the Adhartal police, Mukesh Rajak, a resident of Katra Adhartal, charged that on the evening of Raksha Bandhan, a truck carrying dead chickens arrived at a poultry shop identified as Golden Broiler. He alleged that the chickens, which died due to uncertain reason, were unloaded and stored inside the shop and were being cut and sold. Rajak claimed that he and others recorded the incident on video and audio and expressed concern over the alleged sale of poultry that could pose a health risk to consumers.

He further alleged that after the matter was reported, he and members of his organisation received threats to withdraw the complaint and remove the video from social media. According to the complaint, they were allegedly threatened with being implicated in false cases. The complainant also alleged that false accusations of extortion and other charges were being levelled against members of Hindu organisations. He further raised concerns over unhygienic conditions in the locality, alleging that dirty drain water flows through the area. The complainant has requested the Adhartal police to register an FIR and take appropriate legal action on the allegations.
