ON NATIONAL Sports Day, the Maha Para All Sports Association (MPASA) felicitated disabled athletes from Nagpur who excelled at nationaland international events. The disabled athletes were honoured with bouquets and mementoes. Ishwari Pande (blind),who has made an impression with her long distance swimming at the national and international levels, Nikita Dongre (blind), Pranay (deaf) and Akshay Nawale (deaf) were felicitated at the hands of international coach Dhananjay Upasani and former captain of the Indian disabled cricket team Gurudas Raut. 

 

For showing exemplary courage while saving life of ayoung girl from drowning in Ambazari lake, the duo of Akshay and Pranay were much appreciated. Formaking good swimmers from disabled humans, noted NIS coach Sanjay Batwewas specially honoured. The event was held under the guidance of Maharashtra Olympic Association Vice President and former MLC Sandip Joshi and NMC Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar.
