BHAVAN’S Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir,Civil Lines and Srikrishna Nagar branches started their campaigns in the DSO Under-19 Football Tournament with resounding wins on Sunday. While the Civil Lines branch beat Major Hemant Jakate School 2-0, the Srikrishna Nagar branch blanked Dinanath Junior College 3-0. For Civil Lines, both the goals were scored by Shreyasnh Jaipurkar. He scored the first goal as early as in the second minute of play and found his second in the eighth minute. In Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar’s victory, Vansh Ponda (2nd), Shravan Rokade (20th) and Virat Patil (24th) found the target. In atough match, Anjuman Urdu pipped GS College 3-2 via shoot-out.

 

After the match ended in a goal less draw at end of the regulation time, Anjuman’s trioof Adil Ansari, Aatique Ansari and Atif Sheikh found the target while for GS, Burhanuddin Ali and Jay Verma scored from the spot kick. In another match where no goals could be scored in the scheduled time, SFS College edged past Bishop Cotton CBSE 5-4. For the winners,Vinay Rajbhar, Aniket Tekam, Kevin Chauhan, Granth Hirankhede and Aaron Dasslammed home agoal each while for the losing team, AbhigyanBisen,RajSwai,Shawn Meshak and Suyash Wane converted their spot kicks. Saket Gajbhiye’sstrike in the 27th minute of play helped St Paul’s secure a close 1-0 win over Hislop College. In Under-14 boys matches, CPS WN beat Dinanath Junior College 2-0 via shoot-out; St Mary’s School beat Mahatma Gandhi English School2-0;Neeri Modernbeat Narayana ETech 3-0; Sevasadan Saksham beat Shri Umiya Shankar 1-0; Centre Point International beat CDS High School 1-0; Lalita Public School beat Adarsh Convent 1- 0; Narayana Vidyalayam beat Anjuman English 2-0.
