Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi formally released paediatrician and child-rights advocate Dr Uday Bodhankar’s book, ‘Death-Defying Doctor – Inspirational Story’, at a ceremony in New Delhi. The book chronicles Bodhankar’s journey, including his struggles, challenges and work in child health, child rights, adolescent health, youth development and humanitarian services. It presents his professional life alongside themes of compassion, perseverance, service and hope.

 

Satyarthi, whose work has focused on child rights, protection and elimination of child labour, highlighted the importance of ensuring every child has access to health, dignity, safety and opportunities to realise their potential. Bodhankar said it was a proud moment to have his book released by Satyarthi. The book is aimed particularly at youth, medical students, healthcare professionals, doctors and social workers, conveying the message that adversity can be transformed through determination and that medical knowledge gains meaning through service to society.
