GAURAV Khadatkar and Madina Paul emerged as winners in the Inter-College Cross Country 10km ( Women and Men) Competition organised by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University on its synthetic track at Ravi Nagar. In the men’s category, Gaurav of Arts College, Sihora took first place by clocking 31.23:41 minutes.Soham Chaudhary (31.51:69) of Chakrapani Arts College, Nagpur took second spot and Ajit Uike of Balkhande College, Paoni took third place by clocking 32.24:87 minutes. The overall winner in men’s category was Chakrapani College, Nagpur with 37 points while Arts College, Sihora secured second place with a total of 39 points and the overall third place winner was NMD College, Gondia with 114 points. In the women’s category, Madina of Saket College of Physical Education, Gondia clocked 39.54:15 minutes for the top spot. Anjali Madavi of SBCT College, Nagpur secured second position by clocking 40.30:55 minutes while Pooja Panchbudhe, also of SBCT secured the third position (41.46:62). In the women’s category, the team championship was won by AD College, Bharsingi by scoring a total of 44 points.

 

Women’s College Nandanvan, Nagpur, scored a total of 58 points and registered its name at second place and won the runnerup title. At the outset, the event, organised under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar, was inaugurated by Senate Members Vishnu Changde and Adv Manmohan Bajpai, and Sunil Phudke by flagging-off the races. Tracksuits were given to the top three finishers by Dr Piyush Ambulkar Mitra Parivar as the sponsors. The programme was conducted by Prof Parag Bansolewhile the teacher in-charge DrAditya Soni proposed a vote ofthanks. Dr Kshirsagar,Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Akhilesh Peshwaand Registrar Dr Vijay Khandalcongratulated the winners. Senate Member Vishnu Changde presided over the prize distribution function. SenateMembers Adv Manmohan Bajpai, Sunil Phudke and DrSanjay Chaudhary; NMC Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar,Director of Sports and Physical Education Department DrSambhaji Bhosale, Dr Madhavi Mardikar, Dr Vijay Datarkar, Dr Devendra Wankhade and other dignitaries were present. The technical side of the competition was handled by Dr Vibekanand Singh and RamWani. Staff of the PhysicalEducation Department provided valuable support to make the competition a success.
